Join Oregon Black Pioneers for the second stop on our statewide walking tour series. This time, we’re headed to the historic gold mining town of Jacksonville in Jackson County’s Applegate Valley.
Led by OBP Public Programs Manager Mariah Rocker, this two-hour, 2-mile loop will make stops at locations connected to the town’s Black history. Discover more about Ben Johnson, Louis Southworth, and other members of one of Oregon’s first Black communities.
