SUMMARY:Justice for Aidan Rally
DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, a 12-person jury unanimously found Robert Keegan not guilty of the charge of second-degree murder for the shooting of 19 year old Aidan Ellison. \nInstead he was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter\, unlawful possession of a firearm and recklessly endangering another person. \nA guilty second degree murder verdict could have resulted in a sentence of life in prison. \nA first-degree manslaughter conviction carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years. \nAshland High School’s\nTruth to Power\nis asking to you join them for the following events to protest the lesser charge in the killing of Aidan Ellison. \nWednesday\, May 10th at 5:00 pm\nJustice for Aidan Rally\nAshland Plaza \n  \n“Nothing about Aidan’s murder can ever be made right\, or fair\, or okay. What we call for is justice; a recognition of what Keegan did and punishment for his actions. Without punishment for murder\, for stealing an innocent life\, this conviction isn’t justice.”\nAmy Preskenis Perrin\nTruth to Power \n  \n  \nAnother way to help… \nWrite to the judge and ask him to sentence Robert Keegan to the full extent of the law.\nAlso\, ask for sentencing of all three charges consecutively. \nThe Honorable Tim Barnack\nTim.Barnack@ojd.state.or.us \nA handwritten note delivered to his chamber would also be helpful. \n100 S.
