Building New Attainable Housing: Obstacles and Opportunities
January 25 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Like many towns and cities across the country, Ashland is facing a serious shortage of attainable housing. This crisis touches every
part of community life—from the strength of our schools, to the quality of our medical care, to the stability of local businesses.
Why is progress so slow? In this 90 minute panel discussion, six experts will address key barriers to progress:
1. Permitting and regulatory hurdles
2. Availability and cost of land
3. Community resistance to new developments
The event will also highlight examples of what’s actually working, so Ashland can move from obstacles to possibilities.
